Terms & Conditions

Effective date: July 24, 2026

1. Quote Validity

Your quote is valid for 30 days from the date it was generated. After 30 days, pricing is subject to change.

2. Price Accuracy

Your price is calculated based on the information you provide — room dimensions, surface type, and scope of work. If the actual conditions on arrival differ materially from what was submitted (for example, rooms are significantly larger, additional surfaces require painting, or wall condition requires more preparation than indicated), we will discuss any price adjustment with you before work begins. We will not start work on a revised scope without your approval.

All jobs carry a minimum charge of $450. Quotes below the minimum are topped up to it, shown as a separate "Minimum job charge" line before you book.

3. What's Included

Your quote covers only the surfaces and rooms listed in your booking. Items not listed — including closets, ceilings (unless selected), trim (unless selected), and wall repairs — are not included.

The following are excluded from all quotes unless explicitly added:

  • Wall repairs (holes, cracks, water damage)
  • Wallpaper removal
  • Additional coats beyond standard coverage
  • Scaffolding or lift equipment

Out-of-scope work that arises on arrival — such as wall repairs or wallpaper removal — is available at $90/hour per person, plus materials at cost. We will always confirm this with you before proceeding.

4. Surface Conditions

Your quote is based on the wall condition you declare for each room. We define conditions as:

  • Good shape: small nail holes, light scuffs, normal wear. Included in standard prep (filling small holes, light sanding, spot priming).
  • Some wear: dents or gouges larger than a nail head, hairline cracks, or visible seams. Carries a flat $69 per-room charge for the additional filling, sanding, and priming time.
  • Needs repairs: holes larger than a coin, water stains, peeling or bubbling paint, or cracked plaster. Cannot be priced online; we review photos first, and repair work is billed as described in Section 3.

If surfaces require repairs beyond standard prep that were not disclosed at booking, we will stop and discuss options before proceeding.

5. Colour Changes

A colour change means painting over a significantly different existing colour, which requires an extra coat for full coverage. This is priced accordingly at booking. If a colour change is not selected at booking but is required on arrival, we will adjust the price before starting work.

6. Paint and Materials

We purchase paint for each job based on the quoted scope. Any leftover paint is left with you at the end of the job for future touch-ups.

If additional paint is required during the job due to scope changes or unforeseen conditions, we will charge for the additional material at cost, plus time to source it if a separate trip is required.

7. Client Responsibilities

To allow us to complete your job safely and on schedule, you agree to:

  • Provide clear access to all rooms in scope on the scheduled date
  • Remove or cover furniture, valuables, and personal items from rooms being painted
  • Secure or relocate pets for the duration of the job
  • Disclose any known conditions that may affect the work, including water damage, mould, or existing surface issues
  • Disclose any known hazardous materials or unsafe conditions at the property, including but not limited to lead paint, asbestos, unstable structures, or concealed electrical or plumbing hazards

We recommend removing any items of sentimental or significant monetary value before our arrival. Clockwork Painting is not responsible for damage to items left in the work area.

8. Change Orders

Any changes to the agreed scope of work during the job — including additional rooms, surfaces, or services — must be agreed upon before work on the additional scope begins. Approved changes may affect the final price. We will not perform out-of-scope work without your explicit approval.

9. Payment

No payment is taken when you book. At booking you add a valid card, which we securely save on file through Stripe to hold your date and lock in your quoted price. Your card is not charged at this time.

We charge the full quoted total to your card on file once your project is complete. That is the only charge. You will receive a receipt by email. All payments are processed securely through Stripe.

10. Cancellation and Rescheduling

You may cancel or reschedule any time up to 48 hours before your confirmed date at no cost. Because we take no payment at booking, there is nothing to refund when you cancel.

To cancel or reschedule, email us at sacha@clockworkpainting.com.

We reserve the right to cancel or reschedule due to circumstances beyond our control. In that case, we will offer you a rescheduled date or release the card we hold on file, at your choice.

11. Deficiencies

Any deficiencies in workmanship must be reported within 7 days of job completion. Reports after that window may not be covered under warranty.

12. Warranty

We warrant our workmanship for 1 year from the date of job completion. This covers peeling, blistering, or adhesion failure caused by improper application or surface preparation on our part.

This warranty does not cover:

  • Normal wear and tear, scuffs, or abrasion
  • Damage caused by moisture, leaks, or water intrusion
  • Fading from sunlight
  • Damage caused by the client or third parties after completion
  • Paint or materials supplied by the client
  • Surfaces not listed in the original scope of work

13. Pre-Existing Conditions

Clockwork Painting is not responsible for pre-existing damage to surfaces, structures, or property. This includes but is not limited to existing cracks, water damage, mould, rot, or deterioration discovered during the course of the job. If such conditions are found, we will notify you before proceeding and may adjust scope or price accordingly.

14. Limitation of Liability

Clockwork Painting's total liability for any claim arising out of or related to services provided under these Terms is limited to the amount paid by the client for the specific job giving rise to the claim.

In no event will Clockwork Painting be liable for indirect, incidental, special, consequential, or punitive damages of any kind, including but not limited to loss of use, lost profits, cost of temporary accommodation, or damage caused by delays, regardless of whether such damages were foreseeable or whether Clockwork Painting was advised of the possibility of such damages.

15. Indemnification

The client agrees to indemnify and hold harmless Clockwork Painting and its personnel from any claims, losses, or damages arising from: (a) conditions at the property that were not disclosed at the time of booking; (b) the client's failure to fulfil the responsibilities set out in Section 7; (c) instructions given by the client that resulted in work being performed contrary to our professional recommendation; or (d) unsafe, hazardous, or undisclosed conditions at the property that affect the safety of Clockwork Painting personnel, including but not limited to unstable structures, concealed electrical or plumbing hazards, or the presence of toxic materials such as lead paint or asbestos.

Clockwork Painting reserves the right to pause or refuse work at any time if conditions at the property are deemed unsafe. The client will be notified immediately. We will charge only for work already completed to that point.

16. Dispute Resolution

If a dispute arises in connection with these Terms or services provided, both parties agree to attempt resolution in good faith before pursuing any legal action. To initiate a dispute, contact us at sacha@clockworkpainting.com. We will respond within 5 business days and work toward a fair resolution.

17. Photography

We photograph completed work for our own records. These photos are not distributed publicly or used for any marketing purpose without the client's permission.

18. Governing Law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Province of Ontario, Canada.

We answer email and text during business hours, Monday to Saturday.

20. Currency and Taxes

All prices are in Canadian dollars. Your quoted total includes HST at the applicable Ontario rate. HST is shown as a separate line on your quote before you book, and on your receipt.

21. Booking Online: Your Rights

When you book on this website, you enter an agreement covered by the Ontario Consumer Protection Act, 2002. The following applies to that agreement.

Reviewing and correcting your booking. Before you confirm, the booking page shows your full itemized price, the rooms and surfaces included, your requested dates, and these Terms. You must tick a box to accept these Terms before you can confirm. You may change any detail, or leave the page without booking, at any point before you press the confirm button.

Your copy of the agreement. We email you a written copy of your booking within 15 days of the day you book. In practice we send it immediately. It lists the work, the total price, and when your card will be charged.

Cancelling. You may cancel under section 10 above. Separately, Ontario law lets you cancel this agreement within 7 days of receiving your copy if we failed to give you any of the information the law requires before you booked, or within 30 days if we never sent you a copy at all.

Refunds. We take no payment when you book, so in most cases there is nothing to refund. If you have paid us and you cancel under a right the law gives you, we refund the full amount you paid, within 15 days of your cancellation.

To cancel, email sacha@clockworkpainting.com or text 437-475-4010. Tell us your name and address. We will confirm in writing.
