Clockwork Painting ("we," "us," "our") operates clockworkpainting.com and provides interior painting services in the Greater Toronto Area. This policy explains what personal information we collect, why, and how we handle it. Information you give us. When you request a quote, book a project, or contact us, we collect your name, email address, phone number, service address, and details about the work you want done. When you add a card at booking or pay for a job, our payment processor collects your payment details; we do not store your full card number.

Information collected automatically. When you visit our website, we and our analytics and advertising partners automatically collect standard technical information through cookies and similar technologies. This includes your device type, browser, approximate location, the pages you view, and how you arrived at our site.

Photos you upload. If you use our colour visualizer, the photo you provide is processed to show your room in a new colour. The photo is used only to generate that preview and is not stored on our servers after processing.

2. Why we collect it

We use your information to:

• Prepare quotes and carry out painting projects you book
• Contact you about your quote, booking, colour selection, and project
• Securely hold your card on file and process payment when your job is complete
• Understand how visitors use our website so we can improve it
• Show you relevant Clockwork Painting advertising on other platforms (see section 3)

3. Advertising and analytics cookies

Our website uses cookies and similar technologies from third-party services, including Google and, where enabled, Meta (Facebook and Instagram). These serve two purposes:

• Analytics: understanding which pages visitors use, so we can improve the site.
• Advertising and retargeting: recognizing that you visited our site so that we, or these platforms on our behalf, can show you Clockwork Painting ads later. For example, if you use the colour visualizer, you may later see a Clockwork ad on Instagram or in Google search results.
• Session analytics: we use Microsoft Clarity to understand how visitors move through the site, which pages and steps they use, and where they run into trouble, so we can fix it. This records general interactions like clicks and scrolling. Text you type, including any personal details you enter, is masked and never captured, so these recordings are anonymized.

Under Canadian privacy law, your continued use of our website constitutes implied consent to these cookies, disclosed here. You can withdraw consent at any time by adjusting your browser settings to block or delete cookies, or by using the ad-settings and opt-out tools these platforms provide. Blocking cookies may affect how parts of the site function.

4. Who we share it with

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run our business, and only as needed for them to perform their function. These include our payment processor, our email and text-messaging providers, our website and hosting infrastructure, and the analytics and advertising platforms described above. Where required, these providers are bound to protect your information and use it only for the services they provide to us.

We may disclose information if required by law, or to protect our rights, safety, or property.

5. How we protect it

We take reasonable measures to protect your information against loss, theft, and unauthorized access. Sensitive credentials and payment information are handled by established third-party providers with their own security standards. No method of transmission or storage is completely secure, but we work to safeguard your information appropriately.

6. How long we keep it

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described here, or as required by law (for example, tax and business records). Analytics and advertising data are retained according to the settings and policies of the platforms that collect them.

7. Your rights

Under PIPEDA, you have the right to:

• Ask what personal information we hold about you
• Ask us to correct information that is inaccurate
• Withdraw your consent to our use of your information, subject to legal and contractual limits
• Ask us to delete your information, where we are not required to keep it
